Secretary General Of Islamic Chamber Of Commerce, Industry, And Agriculture
(The following is an English translation of the original Arabic version.)
Considering The Islamic Chamber as a representative for all the private sectors in the Islamic world, its main strategic aim is to be the engine for Halal investment, as the investment is the main core for all private sectors, and from this point of view a number of companies owned by the Islamic Chamber’s endowment were established – which was contributed to its establishment by the late presidents of the Chamber, Sheikh Ismail Abu Dawood, and Sheikh Saleh Kamel, may God have mercy on them – and at the forefront of these companies comes the Islamic Chamber Company for Halal Services.
Islamic Chamber Halal Services (ICHS) was established by the Islamic Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture. ICHS has been tasked with encouraging all existing certification bodies to come together, share information and integrate their respective standards in order to enhance consumer confidence and grow the market for legitimately-certified Halal foods. ICHS is the vehicle that will enable domestic and export producers in any country to obtain globally accepted accreditation for their raw and processed products. In summary, ICHS is totally independent and fearlessly transparent. Its role is to help all Muslim countries to further develop or create Halal accreditation frameworks into one universal model, to uncover trade and investment opportunities for Halal foods, and to establish a universally recognized Halal standard as a true symbol of assurance.
